Intercult har granskat Kulturutredning och har valt att fokusera vårt yttrande på de områden där Intercult har särkompetens: det internationella och det interkulturella. Vi anser att dessa (för kulturpolitiken) helt nya faktorer bör ges en betydligt större plats. I utredningen finns det alltför få praktiska förslag för att förbättra Sveriges engagemang kring mångfald eller internationellt utbyte. Utredarna verkar ha valt att undvika dem eftersom man konstaterat att dessa två områden är “komplicerade och subtila”. Den förväntade modernisering av Sveriges kulturpolitik med ett ökat internationellt och interkulturellt innehåll uteblir därmed.
Remissvaret i sin helhet (PDF) / Intercult has read the Culture Survey and choose to focus our response on the areas that lie within our expertise: the international and the intercultural issues. These are new factors for Swedish cultural politics and we believe that they should be given more priority. The Culture Survey presents too few specific suggestions to improve Sweden’s engagement in the multicultural and international exchange. The evaluators seem to have avoided these issues based on their description of the areas as being “complicated and subtle”. The expected modernization of Sweden’s cutlural policy through the development of international and intercultural content thus remains unrealized.
