America Vera-Zavala is a playwright since 2006. She has written Concha tu madre, on illegal workers, the so called “sans papiers”, Viskleken, about the miners strike in Sweden 1969, and Ethnoporn, about islamofobia and other problems in the suburbs. She founded Botkyrka Community Teater och Dans 2008 and is its artistic leader. Under the flag of the community theatre she has followed the mill town of Norrsundet and written three plays about the changes in a mill town when the mill closes.
