Under 2016 innehar Nederländerna EU:s ordförandeskap de första sex månaderna. I juli övertar Slovakien ordförandeposten t.o.m. december 2016. Första halvan av 2017 är det Malta som är ordförande. The Netherlands holds the Presidency of EU for six months and is partnered with Slovakia, which will hold the Presidency from July to December 2016 and Malta, which will hold the Presidency from January to June 2017.
