Sabine headed the Platform for Intercultural Europe from 2006–2014, taking it from the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue to advocacy for cultural diversity in the EU Open Method of Coordination. She was previously Deputy Secretary General of Culture Action Europe, the European arts advocacy umbrella (2004-2006); parliamentary assistant to MEP Dr. Barbara O’Toole, socialist coordinator on the European Parliament’s Committee on Education and Culture (1999‐2004); as well as Assistant Researcher and Lecturer at the University of Malta (1993-94). She holds degrees in political science from the Universities of Heidelberg, Germany (BA) and Durham, Great Britain (MA).
