Together with our palestinian partner Al-Harah Theater, Intercult hosted a seminar about PARC, Performing Arts Training Center on the West Bank – the first of its kind in Palestine. It was held on the 30:th of January at Intercult in Stockholm. Marina Barham, CEO of the Al-Harah Theater, initiator and driving force behind the project, gave a lecture about the process of establishing a vocational school for theatre on the West Bank.
Intercult, together with our Swedish network and in collaboration with Al-Hara, will create the educational programme and provide technical equipment and residencies for the students. We will also find four Swedish teachers and partly finance their stay in Palestine for six months. They will teach in the following fields: Lighting design and technique, Sound design and technique, Costume Design & Making, Scenography Design & Making, Production and Stage Management, Managing & Producing Cultural and Artistic Projects.
The establishing of the Performing Arts Training Center has gained support from The Swedish Institute’s Creative Force programme.
