Chris Torch bloggar om konflikt och interkultur efter ett Belfastbesök[eng]Chris Torch blogs on Conflict and interculture after a Belfast visit[/eng]

“Conflict is a cultural phenomen. All attempts to define conflict in purely political, economic or religious terms are doomed to fail. And if conflict is cultural, than the healing process must begin with cultural means. There is no greater challenge today, both globally and locally, than the constructive exchange between diverse cultures, religions and peoples.
There are many threats to this exchange….

I visited Belfast a couple of weeks ago, to speak at the Belfast One City Conference http://www.onecityconference.com. Well-organised, warm and informal, The conference organizers had managed to gather some of the shining business, cultural, political and activist leaders from both sides of an historically troubled city.”

I know they are not travelling as a means to rediscover their youth, but then again, why should I repeat what everybody knows already from the news, all the stereotypes about emigrants? Why not to take a more playful approach?”

We offer continuous coaching to those who work on a collaborative project and intend to apply for international funding.

During the Spring 2010 we sent out a call for project ideas that would benefit from coaching in order to be developed into a competitive EU-application. The response was overwhelming, with 60 applications from all over Sweden, ranging from emerging initiatives to established state funded institutions working with different disciplines. We have chosen eight projects with different needs and time lines, which means both short and long term engagement on a deeper level.  We will follow these projects, and provide counseling on the research, project development, application and budget.
