Den 21-23 mars är Intercult värd för en konferens med medlemmar i EU plattformen River//Cities och projektpartners i Culture for Waterfronts. Temat för Stockholm är “Impact of culture on citizenship – the role of culture in developing a sustainable European society”. Målet är att visa hur kulturen fungerar som motor för stadsutvecklingen och hur kulturen bär det demokratiska inslaget.
Som en del av programmet arrangerar Europa Direkt Intercult ett seminarium, torsdagen den 21 mars, kl. 14-17, med tema: Cultural Planning – Kulturella resurser för ett aktivt medborgarskap. Seminariet är på engelska, hålls i Intercults lokal Annexet, på Nytorgsgatan 15, på Söder i Stockholm och är öppet för alla intresserade. Seminariet är på engelska och är öppet för alla intresserade. Cultural Planning – Kulturella resurser för ett aktivt medborgarskap
Kultur kan vara en stark demokratibärare. Att tillvarata människors kulturella resurser i stadsutvecklingen främjar en långsiktig hållbar utveckling och ett aktivt medborgarskap.
Ingen människa är en ö, och vi har alla olika bakgrund och erfarenheter. På den plats vi lever och verkar blandas våra berättelser. För att förstå detta behöver vi kunna se hur dessa berättelser kan smälta samman i förnyelse- eller utvecklingsarbete lokalt. Cultural Planning är ett sätt att svara upp på dessa frågor.
Cultural Planning är en aktiv process med deltagande från de människor och grupper som berörs och som vill påverka. Med deras erfarenheter och i aktiviteterna i en plats dagliga liv, i dess identitet och historia, kulturliv, mångfald och företagande kan vi skapa en förankrad utveckling.
Cultural Planning innebär ett lyhört förhållningssätt för in kulturella resurser och kvaliteter i en strukturerad plan för hållbar platsutveckling och stadsmiljö.

Tomas, har lång erfarenhet av sektorsövergripande partnerskap och interkulturella processer med ett särskilt intresse av kultur för ökat samhällsdeltagande.

16.30 – 17.00 Sharing, reflections and summary / On 21-23 March, Intercult hosts a conference with members from the EU platform: River / / Cities and project partners of Culture for Water Fronts. The theme of the Stockholm conference is “Impact of culture on citizenship – the role of culture in Developing a sustainable European society”. The goal is to show how culture works as a motor for urban development and how the culture carries the democratic nature.

Cultural planning – Bringing culture and citizenship together
Culture can promote both citizenship and sustainable cities. Bringing place, people and cultural activities together can develop local democracy and participation.
A place consists of people and their stories and experiences, their ideas and dreams. We need to understand and to involve them in local development work. Cultural planning provides a method for this that involves a wide aspect of community and participatory qualities for sustainable development.
During the visits through the River//Cities project impressions and experiences will be shared within the group. How can they now be transferred into good practice and be further shared as keys to cultural and community development?
Cultural Planning is a sensitive approach to the cultural resources and qualities of a structured plan for sustainable site development, and urban environments.
“Use your senses – how tastes and smells a place?”
Tomas Dahlberg at Creative Communities is an experienced community developer with special interests in cultural intervention for creative participation. He conducts the workshop in English and will during the session introduce Cultural Planning as a method for participatory place development and lead the workshop to connect the impressions so far and provide a framework for an integrated River//Cities outcome.
